For the last 25 years, I have had the privilege to work in the Senior Care space. For those of us that have had this opportunity to specifically work with residents, you know why I use the word “privilege”. During this time, I have gained a specific skill set that can greatly benefit owners and operators of skilled nursing facilities as well as independent living, assisted living, and memory care communities.

I decided to establish Elevate for two primary reasons. First of all, owners and operators have a great deal of exposure to risk and liability as it relates to the provision of therapy services. This exposure is present in both contract therapy agreements as well as in-house models. As the saying goes, “you don’t know what you don’t know” and that lack of knowledge may come with a very steep price tag. I can help with this.

The second reason is cost containment. For those of you that contract your therapy services, this is probably the largest invoice you pay each month. With the transition from PPS to PDPM, the management and oversight of therapy changed drastically. With this change, it is my belief that there has never been a better time to consider taking your therapy services in-house. For many operators, this may mean significant cost savings. With margins in the SNF sector hovering around 1–2%, it is safe to say that every dollar counts.
